Sunday Afternoon Stroll...

January 24, 2010
For our weekly "Sunday Afternoon Stroll" Kayle and I decided to explore the Uranium Mine Trail by Fish Creek Falls. It was the perfect afternoon to try out our new snowshoes Steven gave us for Christmas. After several miles of not really knowing where we were going we came upon a small cave entrance in the mountain side. Kayle was a little bit more adventurous and ventured into the frozen cave. (I stayed safely by the entrance) I think he was a little bit relieved when I begged and pleaded for him not to explore to far into the dark cavern.

Steamboat Welcomes Kristina and Kyle...

January 23, 2010
Kristina and Kyle came to Steamboat for a quick weekend visit. We had a great time skiing the mountain on Friday. It finally started snowing so on Saturday we took the snow mobiles up to Buffalo Pass for a day of back country skiing in fresh powder.

It's Snowing!...back to Steamboat Springs!

After Christmas, Kayle and I packed up our winter gear and headed for the beautiful mountains of Colorado. We were excited to return to our "home away from home" in Steamboat Springs. During the week Kayle and I ski, snowshoe, or stroll through the town. On the weekends we look forward to our many visitiors.

During the recent Martin Luther King holiday weekend, Steven and his collkege buddies, as well as Penni Harrison and her mother Sherri came to visit. We had alot of fun skiing, hiking, tubing, and shopping.

Santa's Visit

Kayle and I were very fortunate to have everyone come "home" to Arizona this year for Christmas. Stefanie and Ed, as well as our two grandchildren, Jack and William, came from Wisconsin. (Ed is in his 3rd year of Medical School at University of Wisconsin) Steven and Kristina and her new husband Kyle came from Utah where they all attend BYU.
We started our celebration with a visit from Santa Claus who just so happened to stop by during a small gathering of family and friends. Jack was thrilled and didn't want to let go of him...seriously!... but finally gave in to letting the other children take their turns to sit on his lap.

Kayaking the Loxahatchee River

June 5, 2009
Kayle and I headed north where we braved the wild waters of the Loxahatchee River. We also went biking between thunderstorms (a daily occurance) in Dickinson State Park (Jupiter, FL) and Markham Park (Weston, FL). We had a great time on the off-road trails complete with rails, bridges, and teeter-totters. Apparently they have to build the challenges here in South Florida since the largest hills are the landfills. (All individually named Mount Trashmore)
