A Hot Time in Key West...

Kayle and I have enjoyed our short stay in Miami. The weather is great, the culture is interesting. We decided to take the opportunity to explore Southern Florida while we have the chance so we headed south to the Florida Keys. We spent the weekend in Key West walking, biking, and eating at great restaurants. It was hot and muggy! I don't think I have ever sweated so much in my life!

A Weekend of Racing...Indy 500

Kayle and I met our dear friends Rose Ann and Dee Raso in Indianapolis for the Indy 500. I couldn't believe the crowds! The race attracts more than 350,000 people annually from all walks of life. Unbelievable! We had a great time watching the people as well as the cars zoom by...what a rush!

In September we met Brandon and Michelle Simmons in Vancouver for a 10 day cruise down the Mexican Riviera. Along the way we stopped in Victoria Island, San Diego, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, and Mazatlan. We had a wonderful time...

Biking the Ridge Trail (Utah) ...in the mud!

We joined Kristina and Steven for an evening bike ride on the Ridge Trail in American Fork Canyon (Utah). The colors of the leaves were just starting to change so the trail ride was beautiful...and then it started to rain. The loose dirt quickly turned into slippery mud and all we could do was to just kept on peddling. It was a great way for Kristina and Steven to break in their new mountain bikes. A little mud never hurt anyone, right? At least Kristina kept a smile on her face!

Family Reunion in Steamboat

We were all excited to get together in Steamboat for our first family reunion in two years. Steven was finally able to meet his little nephew Jack and get reaquainted with his sisters. Grandma and Grandpa Preece also joined us for a few adventures...probably more than they bargained for. It was a week filled with fun and laughter, hiking, biking, and swimming.

We meet again...and the adventures continue!

As soon as we arrived in the Philippines Steven started to get a little trunky and asked his mission president if he could be released early to travel with us. Kayle and I were both so excited to see him again. We had so much fun touring the country together and listening to Steven communicate and interact with the people. We were very lucky to have him along considering we couldn't understand anything anyone was saying. Our Tagalog isn't the best. I tried but everyone just looked at me as if I had just landed on the planet. After spending time in the Philippines it was easy to understand why Steven loved the country and it's people. It was a wonderful experience for him.
